Scott Byrd – President/Owner
The company was founded in 1982 by Scott Byrd. Scott has spent thirty years in the business and has worked with over 1,870 clients. He has specialized in kitchen remodeling, but also does extensive remodeling, additions, new construction, decks, wet bars and more. Scott has won numerous awards including Nebraska State Home Builders 2001 Remodeler of the Year, 2001 ASID Designer Showhouse Builder and has won Best of Omaha 1st Place Kitchen and Bath Remodeler two years in a row. He and his staff are dedicated to producing quality projects in all price ranges giving individual attention to detail with each and every client. We have hundreds of references from satisfied clients that we can provide to you.
Kris Elsasser – Controller/Office Manager
Kris joined the company in 1992 and handles all office related task from personnel and advertising as well as the accounting and project coordination of the jobs. She is responsible for monitoring and overseeing all projects to insure that our staff is taking good care of you and that your project runs smoothly from start to finish.
Rachael Wilmeth – Interior Designer
Rachael joined Kitchens By Designs in 2007. She graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a degree in Interior Design and has nine years of experience in the home remodeling and design industry. Rachael has a vast knowledge of both current trends and timeless styles to make sure your new project says “you”. She will guide you through the design process to explore new ideas and avoid costly design mistakes. Her attention to detail will turn your living space into both a beautiful and efficient product.
Gwen Rathman, AKBD – Associate Kitchen & Bath Designer
Gwen joined our company in 2007. Gwen is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a degree in Family Studies and Interior Design. Gwen has over seven years of experience specializing in designing kitchens, bathrooms and other spaces. She will help you from start to finish with all aspects of your kitchen or bathroom cabinetry. She is very detail oriented and loves to create unique spaces for each client. Gwen keeps up with all of the latest styles and must haves for the kitchen and bath industry through continuing education.
Rafael Orellana – Granite Shop Manager
Rafael joined the company in 2008. He has over ten year’s granite experience. Rafael manages the granite shop and oversees all fabrication and installation on projects. This insures a quality finish on each and every job.
Tony joined Kitchens By Design in 2000. He has over thirteen years experience as a carpenter. Tony became a lead carpenter in 2003.
Jerry Potter – Lead Carpenter
Jerry joined the company in August of 2003. Jerry has over 26 years of experience as a carpenter.
Scott Kirkpatrick (Skit) – Lead Carpenter
Skit joined the company in 2004. He has over 14 years of experience as a carpenter.
Doug Moore – Lead Carpenter
Doug came to Kitchens By Design in 2004. Doug has twenty-one years experience as a carpenter.
Jamie Tafoya – Lead Carpenter
Jamie joined us in 2007. He has 12 years experience as both a carpenter and as a project manager.
Matt Gusta – Carpenter Assistant
Matt joined Kitchens By Design in 2010. Matt has been in the building industry for over fourteen years. Matt was first a cabinet designer and then hands on in the field.
Greg Hrabik – Designer/Installer
Greg joined the company in 2010. Greg has over 15 years experience in the building industry.
